Silk is a natural protein fiber, some forms of which can be woven into textiles. The protein fiber of silk is composed mainly of fibroin and is produced by certain insect larvae to form cocoons. The best-known silk is obtained from the cocoons of the larvae of the mulberry silkworm Bombyx mori reared in captivity.

Mulberry Silk
The silk that we use in all our products is Mulberry silk. it is the highest quality silk available comes from silkworms produced from the Bombyx mori moth. They’re fed an exclusive diet of mulberry leaves, which is why the luxurious fabric is known as mulberry silk.

Tussar (Indian Tussar silkworm),
Eri (Castor silkworm, native to Japan, China and Thailand),
Muga (Indian Muga silkworm),
Spider (Madagascan spiders),
Cricula (Philippines, India and Indonesian Crucula silkworm),
Fagara (Attacus atlas silkworm, Sudan and China),
Anaphe ( Thaumetopoeidae silkworm, South Africa).

There are three sizes of scarf, the larger at 200cm x 45cm, the classic at 90cm x 90cm and the smaller at 50cm x 50cm.

The fibres are wound on a reel into a thread, which contains approximately 48 silk filaments. Each thread is then put on a loom to create woven fabrics.

The thread which is produced by the spinning glands of the silkworm is the finest and strongest natural fibre in the world. However, woven fabrics are susceptible to snagging so take care when wearing yours.

Our packaging is recyclable and is made in the UK from recyclable materials.

Silk is a biodegradable, compostable material; compared to cotton, for example, there is far less impact on the land, water and air, and it doesn’t involve the use of pesticides.
Our silk suppliers in Greece won first place on the WWF Impact Ventures awards for their zero-waste silk production method.
Our packaging is made in the UK from recycled card and is also recyclable (after removing the ribbon).

We currently do not provide a click and collect service.

Once an order has been placed we are unable to make any changes or cancel your order. You can return your order once you have received it, please find further details in our returns section.

We are unable to redirect orders once they have been dispatched, so please supply an address where you will be available to sign and receive your order. If you wish to redirect your parcel, please contact the courier company with your order directly.

We provide tracking numbers once your order has been dispatched and this is on your despatch email.
UK delivery - DPD/ Royal Mail

We take online security very seriously and at no point do we store any financial information on our servers. We use trusted and reputable third-party hosting agents and payment providers to ensure the security of personal data. All credit card details are entered on a secure server using Stripe Payments. The transfer of the purchase details from our site to Shopify Payments are encapsulated using their encrypted and digitally signed protocol which is secure and tamper-proof. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1 (the highest level).

International orders may be subject to customs or import duties and tax charges once they reach their destination country outside of the UK. These charges are payable by the customer and we do not currently cover this cost.

Every order placed on with us ships in a gift box with the signature Adamantia packaging.
